Skyway Sam's Fl - 118 - May, 2010 Minutes
Meeting was called to order at: Turtleback RV Resort, Lake Panasoffkee, Fl. by
President John Weaver @ 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th, 2010
The opening prayer: was offered by Joe Moon.
The Pledge of Allegiance: was led by Cynthia Garcia.
Roll Call: was read by Vice-President George Smock. 19 members
present, 10 rigs and no guests.
Secretary's Report: Motion was made by Pat Carleton and seconded by
Darla Wyar to dispense reading the minutes as members have already received them per -
e-mail. Motion passed to accept minutes.
Treasurer's Report: Given by the ass't treasurer Rusty Wyar stating that he made a
deposit in April of $107.65 ($84 – popcorn sales-Okeechobee, $20 from
50-50, $3.65 – birthdays & Anniversaries) Present balance in bank is
$1297.87 to the best of his knowledge as he has not received any papers
from Kay Quartz yet. Dora Weaver made a motion to accept this report
and Pat Carleton seconded it. Motion passed. Due to the passing of Kay's
husband, Lou, she will no longer be able to camp or serve as Treasurer
and Rusty will meet with her and will assume her duties.
Communications: (1) Letter from Bob & Reba Ward, Florida Good Sams State Director
expressing their thanks for our Chapter's help at the Spring Samboree in
Okeechobee.
(2) Letter from Sharon Bundy apologizing for neglecting to recognize
each and every Chapter for their door prizes and assistance in donating them.
Committee Reports: Color Guard - John Weaver will represent Skyway Sams at Wekiva.
We are trying to get members from 3 other chapters and 1 member from out of State to
participate.
Web Page – Kathy Brassard is not present to give an update on this.
Blood Drive - Has been set up for Wekiva.
Sunshine – Flo Drumheller is not present to give update. Joan Smith
celebrates hers this month, The Wyar's celebrate 45 years together.
Old Business: (1) Tabled from last meeting concerning the $2 charge for breakfast.
Motion made by Darla Wyar and seconded by Pat Carleton to charge everybody $2 and
the money will go into the treasury.
(2) Decision to decide what money will be donated to the Dogs for the
Deaf will be made in October.
New Business (1) Motion made by Cynthia and seconded by Joe Moon for our members
to wear either white or blue shirts. Motion made by Pat Carleton and seconded by Paul
Kimmerling for the Set-up fee of $35 to be paid by the treasury and $12 for each shirt by
members. Order will be placed at Wekiva. Motion passed.
` (2) Request to have desserts at Wekiva has not been approved yet.
We will know by October.

President John Weaver reminded everybody that copies are available of the State
Committee
meeting if anybody wants to see them. He also thanked George & Lois Smock for the
wonderful
job they did this week-end as Wagonmasters.
Dale and Sandy Keck donated 4 Blue embroidered aprons for workers to wear to
represent
our Chapter.
A motion was made by Pat Carleton and seconded by Dora Weaver to donate $50 each to
a charity of Choice in remembrance for Lou Quartz and Joyce Moon.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Pat Carleton and seconded by Dora
Weaver .
Motion passed and meeting adjourned at 2:41 p.m.

Boner Award - Nominations were made Sunday morning:
(1) Joe Moon for spilling Pat's drink.
Richard Garcia for getting his rig stuck in the mud.
Lois Smock for not making sure Rusty & George got the
chicken cooked on time for the Saturday Pot-luck.
The trophy went to Joe Moon.
