SKYWAY SAM'S FL - 118 – MARCH, 2010 MINUTES
Meeting was called to order at: Sun Lake Resort, Ruskin, FL. by President John Weaver@
1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 6th, 2009.


The Opening Prayer was offered by: Lola Osmun


The Pledge of Allegiance was led by: Fred Osmun


Roll Call and Introduction of Guests: was read by George Smock, 20 members, 9 rigs, 2
guests: Dale and Sandy Keck. (2nd visit)


Secretary's Report: Motion was made by Pat Carleton and seconded by Darla Wyar to
dispense reading of the minutes as members have already received them per e-mail. .
Minutes accepted and motion passed


Treasurer's Report: Motion was made by Dora Weaver and seconded by Pat Carleton to
accept the Treasurer's Report that was sent to members by e-mail. Report accepted and
motion passed.


Communications: (1) Letter from Bob & Reba Ward, Florida State Director, thanking
everybody for participating in the Dunnellon Samboree in Feb 2010 and for donating
door prizes and volunteering. Also thanks for the Color Guard Presentation.


Committee reports: (1) No-See-um Sams will do the Color Guard at Okeechobee in April.
(2)Web Page - Kathy (Brassard) has been in touch with Jill Campbell and now has the
2010 schedule on there and will have the 2011 soon. A motion was made by Pat Carleton
to make Kathy our official Webmaster. Motion was seconded by Darla Wyar. Motion
passed.
(3)Sunshine- Flo Drumheller states she has sent 4 birthday cards and 2 get well cards.
March Birthdays include Flo Drumheller and Cynthia Garcia.
Guide Dogs – John Weaver has a brochure on the National in Oregon if anybody cares to
read it.


Old Business: John states he has sent in an application on Feb. 20th for volunteering our
chapter doing a possible cake sale and the Samgo Popcorn Sale and the Blood drive in
April in Okeechobee and so far has not gotten any answer. The Blood Drive has been set
up.


New Business: (1) Received from Mary Murray a letter regarding the Nomination of Linda
Voyton for State Treasurer. Motion mad by Fred Osmun to cast our vote for Linda Voyton
and seconded by Kathy Brassard. Motion passed.


Reminders: John Weaver states the Popcorn sale will be Tuesday and he will need early
birds to help transport equipment and help with the sales in Okeechobee. Also, for
anybody interested in participating in the Mad Hatter's contest to get to work on their
hats.


John Weaver extended thanks to Wagonmasters Kay and Lou Quartz for all their work in
making this week-end a pleasant success.


There was a brief discussion about when to donate money to the dogs and it was decided
to wait until October and it will be decided then.


Information for the good of the Chapter: Fred Osmun States that The Georgia State
Samboree will be in Perry, Georgia around March 24th -27th and would be well worth
going to.


Motion made by Pat Carleton and seconded by Darla Wyar to adjourn the meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 1:50 PM.

Boner award - Nominations were opened on Sunday morning:
(1)        Dick Brassard for forgetting his electric cord and having to drive back home to
get it.
(2) Lou Quartz for falling in his chair.
(3) Lou Quartz and Keith Carleton for placing our chapter sign upside-down out front of
the camp.
The winner was Dick Brassard and the Boner Trophy was presented to him by Kay Quartz
(for Paul Kimmerling).
