Skyway Sams FL-#118
CAMPOUTS

It is recommended that reservations be made at least
one year
in advance and confirmed thirty to sixty days
prior to the event date.

NOTE: Each month's Hosts shall be assisted by the
member scheduled to be the host of the following
campout.

NOTE: Members are expected to make every campout.  If
they cannot attend, they should inform that month's host,
or an officer, as soon as possible.
Quite often, the club
has to guarantee the number of sites.

Questions to ask campground personnel.

Do they have group campout space available?

Will we be parked together on level full hookup sites?

Will we have exclusive use of the rec. hall and kitchen?

Are the electrical capacities in the rec. hall able to handle
multiple coffee pots and/or roasters?

Is there a charge for use of the rec. hall? What is their
pet policy?

What are the group rates per RV, per night? Is there a
minimum number of rigs required? Is a deposit required?

What else should we be asking you that would make our
campout even more successful?

Have all prices and arrangements with the campground
and other vendors in writing, if possible.

Decide if you plan to
Master Bill, or have everyone pay
individually
at the office upon arrival.

FOLLOW UP DETAILS:

. Contact the campground one week in advance with a
firm count on the number of rigs expected.

.
Arrival: If possible, hosts should be the first to arrive.
Park your rig and place our Chapter flag where they are
clearly visible to arriving members. Make up and place
the weekend schedule where it is easy for all to see.

.
Parking: Host should reserve sites closest to the rec.
hall for members with special needs.

.
Food requirements: Coffee, juice and a hot or cold
breakfast Saturday morning, coffee for Saturday nights
pot luck dinner, and coffee, juice and danish, muffins or
rolls Sunday morning.

.
Activities: Games, entertainment, sight seeing trips and
craft projects are at the decision of the host, but not a
must.

.
Money Accounting: Record all expenditures with receipts.
A final accounting should be given to the Chapter
Treasurer for reimbursement before the weekend is over.

.
Clean UP: The hosts are responsible for proper site, hall
and kitchen clean up and disposal of trash.

Leave the place as nice or nicer than you found it.
PRAYER

Loving God, we ask you to bless our families and the life
we share together.

Help us to work with one another, sharing our gifts and
talents to make our families grow in faith, love and
service.

Help us to play together joyfully, giving of our time and of
ourselves to make our families happy. Help us to love
one another and always to be eager to show that love.

We ask for the grace to preserve and defend Christian
family values which are the foundation of this country's
greatness.

In joys and in sorrows, in good times and in bad, may we
give strength to one another.

As we strive to follow the example of the Holy Family,
may we respect every one's human dignity and freedom,
in all our daily encounters. Finally, may we all one day
share together in everlasting happiness with our heavenly
family.

AMEN
Activities & Games

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES

ENTERTAINMENT:

Ask the campground manager for recommendations. Very
often they are approached by local talent looking for a gig.

GAMES:

Bocci Ball and Holy Board are examples of some of the outdoor
games we have played in the past. If the campground has
Shuffle Board courts, that's another favorite.

Card games are popular past times for Friday and Saturday
evenings as well as Joker Board, Dominoes, etc.

FOOD:

Instead of our usual Saturday night pot luck, hosts can opt for
a reasonably priced dinner out. Prior approval of the members
should be obtained at the previous campout.

The breakfast fee shall be $2.00 per person, unless a prior
agreement has been made.  (Increased from $1.50 to $2.00).

FIELD TRIPS:

Very often there is something interesting going on locally that
we might enjoy. Perhaps a flea market or a local fair. Again, a
good source of information is the campground staff.

Helpful Guidelines/Suggestions
A chapter of  Good Sams of Florida, Inc.
Good Sam Club Pledge

1.  I will stop and give aid to fellow campers where safety and
traffic conditions permit.  I will not attempt to stop and give aid
on turnpikes, freeways, or expressways, but instead will give
three short blasts on my horn to indicate that I am reporting
the breakdown to the nearest patrol, toll-gate, or police
department.
2.  If broken down I will raise the hood of my vehicle and/or
display other distress device to indicate I am in need of
assistance and stay with the vehicle until help arrives.
3.  I will keep my RV in safe condition.
4.  I will drive within the law and with consideration for others.
5.  I will watch following traffic and allow others to pass
whenever I am causing a slowdown.
6.  I agree to observe posted rules and regulations for the
betterment of outdoor recreational facilities.
7.  I will leave my campsite in better condition than I found it.
Additional Information

Rules for the Christmas
"Yankee Swap"

Numbers for all persons selecting gifts will be placed in a
container, mixed and offered for draw. The gift selection will be
according to number drawn.

Each person will bring a gift. Men will bring a gift for a man, and
women will bring a gift for a woman. Each should be placed in a
plain paper bag and
marked for a "Man" or a "Women",

The first person selects a gift for their sex, opens it, and
displays it for all to see.

Each subsequent person selects a bag for their sex, opens it,
and displays it for all to see. They then have the option of
keeping that gift or exchanging the gift for anyone else's gift.

When everyone has selected a gift, the man/women who went
first may, at their option, may exchange their gift for any other
person's gift.
